Our Beginner Yoga course has been created for anyone interested in starting an accessible yoga practice from the ground up to gain understanding and confidence. We will present yoga in an accessible way while staying true to its ancient origins: a mindful and strengthening practice for fitness and wellness. Our courses are led by experienced yoga teachers who are skilled in teaching yoga and relaxation for beginner students.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Foundational yoga postures that create a structure for practice.
Discover the rejuvenating power of yoga as you delve into the fundamentals of breath, movement, and mindfulness.
Explore physical poses that make up the yoga warm-up (sun salutations) and look at poses that develop strength and increase mobility.
Learn how to use simple breath practices to boost mood and re-balance the nervous system, as well as increase stamina of movement and mobility. Breath is key! It is also what makes yoga different from other forms of exercise.
Experience relaxation. In our culture of permanent busyness, most of us have forgotten how relaxation feels. We spend time on this incredibly important aspect.

*Booking is for the whole four-week course and includes two free in-studio classes once course is completed.
Every class will contain an overlap of the above, but structure some featured topics as follows:
Week 1: Explore the original 10 postures that form a traditional yoga warm-up (Sun Salutation A) with alignment, modifications and technique breakdown using props.
Week 2: Explore the next stage of yoga postures in Sun Salutation B, designed to add more strength, balance, and mobility. Includes alignment, modifications and technique breakdown using props.
Week 3: Practice simple breathing techniques, followed by deeper, traditional yogic breathing in a seated practice. Learn how to apply breathwork with your learned poses.
Week 4: After completing a full warm-up of all learned poses, explore the closing sequence of a yoga class that includes stretch and relaxation poses. Mindfulness and deeper relaxation techniques will be taught, using props for comfort.
At the end of the course, you will have practiced the core yoga postures whilst having experienced the calming and mindful benefits of other pivotal aspects of yoga for mind-body health.
